Hospitals Overview

CIMRO of Nebraska works with acute care hospitals (including critical access hospitals) to improve quality of care by promoting professionally accepted "best-care" practices. The Hospital Quality Initiative focuses on conditions common among an aging population, or that cause greater mortality among the elderly.  The areas for improvement include:

  • Acute Myocardial Infarction
  • Heart Failure
  • Pneumonia
  • Surgical Care Improvement

CIMRO of Nebraska supports hospitals in the adoption and use of information technology and in developing methods to improve organizational culture and enhance patient safety. CIMRO of Nebraska staff also assists inpatient hospitals with data collection and reporting initiatives. As consumer interest in healthcare quality increases, CIMRO of Nebraska encourages hospitals to voluntarily report quality of care data for public reporting on the Hospital Compare section of the Medicare Web site.
