CMS has made a significant change to the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) program. Under the new structure, case review and quality improvement functions are being performed by two different types of contractors. KEPRO was awarded the Beneficiary and Family Centered Care Quality Improvement Organization (BFCC-QIO) contract for Nebraska. KEPRO will manage all beneficiary complaints and quality of care reviews to ensure consistency in the case review process while taking into consideration local factors important to Medicare beneficiaries and their family members.
As part of the Great Plains Quality Innovation Network, CIMRO of Nebraska will continue to work with healthcare providers and physicians throughout the state to help improve quality of care .
As of August 1, 2014, we no longer provide case review services for Medicare beneficiaries in the state. Nebraska healthcare providers and Medicare beneficiaries must contact KEPRO for all appeal requests and quality of care concerns:
