Improving Prescription Drug Delivery and Medication Use Overview

Beginning in 2006, Medicare beneficiaries became eligible for drug coverage under a Medicare prescription drug plan (Medicare Part D).  To improve the quality of care related to this new benefit, CIMRO of Nebraska will work with Prescription Drug Plans and Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plans that offer benefits in Nebraska and healthcare providers on quality improvement projects.  These projects will be related to improving prescribing and medication safety through implementation of e-prescribing, improving self-management through medication therapy management services and improving disease specific therapy.

For quality improvement resources and strategies, please visit the Improving Prescription Drug Delivery and Medication Use Documents and Links section.
