Surgical Care Improvement Project Overview

SCIP Logo The Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP) is a national effort to reduce surgical complications related to infection, respiratory, thromboembolic and cardiovascular areas. With over 60,000 invasive surgical procedures performed annually in Nebraska, the goal is to improve patient care and safety by reducing the numbers of preventable complications.

CIMRO of Nebraska supports hospitals in adopting evidence-based practices and implementing systems that reduce treatment variations so surgical infections and venous thromboembolism are prevented.

For quality improvement resources and strategies, please visit the SCIP Documents and Links sections.
